Even in the specialized world of corporate private jets, there are some aircraft that became legendary almost the moment they were announced. The Boeing 777X jet stands out as the shining example of luxury corporate travel. Essentially, the business version of the 777X is a flying combination of executive office and hotel suite. However, though an elite few own this aircraft, it is still accessible to Stratos Jet Charters clients.
So, if your group needs to travel on the best, here is an insider peek into the luxurious Boeing 777X.
History
- Crystal Cruises Luxury cruising company Crystal Cruises is offering its VIP Boeing 777-200LR private jet for COVID-19-related cargo charters. The 88-seat wide-body private jet typically flies.
- Early on, Boeing recognized the opportunity to serve an elite niche with the new aircraft, and the BBJ 777X corporate private jet version was introduced. Unlike the commercial version which can carry up to 426 passengers, the BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) is designed to carry a small group of VIP passengers in lavish style.
The Boeing 777 is a long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliner designed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the commercial business unit of Boeing. Commonly referred to as 'Triple Seven', it is the largest twinjet.
In 2011, Boeing was looking to replace the iconic 747 Jumbo Jet. Although still a popular airliner, the 747’s engineering dates back to the 1970s. Rather than add a new variant to the existing 747 line, Boeing designed the new 777X series from the ground up.
Range
One of the 747 Jumbo’s selling points was its 8,350-mile range. New technologies allow Boeing to break that range barrier. Both variants in the 777X commercial line can fly further: the 777-8 is capable of 13,400 miles, and its cousin, the 777-9, can travel 12,700 miles. As Boeing asserts, the new jets can connect almost any two cities on the globe. Sydney to London or Seattle to Dubai non-stop are now possible on a corporate private jet.

With over 3,200 feet of interior space to work with, the designers let their imaginations run wild. The result is a corporate private jet on an epic scale. As of yet, there is no standard interior configuration for the BBJ version. Instead, Boeing lets the purchaser choose a custom interior. To offer some choice, Boeing contacted 3 design firms to create possible interior layouts. The designs range from functional clean white minimalist décor to elegant wood, stone and leather designs. Here’s what they share in common:
- grand entrance, befitting a manor house
- large dining room for 8 to 12 VIP guests
- a designated lounge and bar area
- office/meeting area with high-speed internet
- lavatories with separate vanities and stand-up showers, elegantly designed with tile and stonework
- spacious closets (even a walk-in closet in one example!)
- master bedroom suite with a large plush bed
Efficiency
Boeing uses the powerful new General Electric GE9X engines, made with an advanced ceramic-matrix composite. These GE engines have better noise and emission reduction and are 5% more fuel-efficient than previous engines.
